Mom, Children Tortured In Palm Bay Home

Men Pointed Gun At Baby, Burned Girl With Oil

PALM BAY, Fla. -- A mother and her six children were tortured when armed men broke into their home this weekend, authorities said. Investigators said three men with guns broke into the home on San Filippo Drive in Palm Bay on Saturday at about 11 p.m. and forced the children to lie down in the living room. The mother then walked in on the men. Police said the men, whose faces were covered, put a gun to a 10-month-old baby's head, choked an 11-year-old and poured boiling oil on the mother and her 15-year-old daughter.

Muskegon woman faces trial after allegedly headbutting, urinating on Wal-Mart security guard

MUSKEGON COUNTY — Marilyn Cole, of Muskegon, faces trial on charges of stealing goods from a local Wal-Mart store, then head-butting and urinating on a security guard.

Cole, 35, waived her probable-cause hearing on charges of unlawful imprisonment, unarmed robbery and interfering with a crime report. The hearing had been scheduled for Tuesday.

Her alleged accomplice, Rashieka Stewart, 23, of Muskegon earlier waived her probable-cause hearing and faces trial on one count of unarmed robbery.

According to Roosevelt Park Police Chief Bill Regan, the women tried to steal merchandise, including make-up and curtains, from the Henry Street Wal-Mart on Halloween night.

Regan said the women broke away from a security guard who tried to detain them at the front door. The security guard ran after them and tried to block Cole from getting into the passenger’s seat of the car in which she and Stewart were preparing to flee.

Regan said Cole “head-butted” the security guard, who fell backwards into the vehicle. The chief said Cole then sat on the man. He grabbed his phone and called 911, but Cole allegedly fought for the phone and then urinated on him.

Stewart drove away with the security guard still in the vehicle and Cole holding him down, according to the chief.

The incident ended when the women stopped in the parking lot of Acme Bedding Co., 660 W. Broadway, where authorities, still on the phone with the security guard, arrested Stewart and Cole.

It's not easy being Security... especially at Wal-Mart.

Let's talk about sex... in video games | ars

These days, video games and controversy are old friends. Unsurprisingly, the biggest controversies seem to arise whenever the topic of sex in video games appears in the public forum. Whenever the topic rears its ugly head, critics come out of the woodwork, condemning the video game industry for trying to sneak sex into our homes and corrupt the youth of America. It's a debate that's become all too familiar for gamers, developers, and publishers over the past few years, and why people are so up in arms about the situation in the first place is more than a little vexing.

FoxSexpert: Are You a Voyeur? | Foxnews

It's hard to believe that anybody in his right mind would want to be a voyeur.

Voyeurism — defined as "obtaining sexual gratification from observing unsuspecting individuals who are partly undressed, naked, or engaged in sexual acts" — is largely considered sordid and scandalous. Nobody loves a peeping Tom.

But getting your kicks watching someone who doesn't know you're watching her — or him — turns out to be more common than you might think. With reality TV and Internet peep shows all the rage, voyeurism has taken on a whole new definition, and people-watching has become an art of sorts beyond the sexual.

Sexual voyeurism is generally viewed as any of three categories — pathological (clinical), criminal, or a fun sexual pastime (particularly if it’s consensual). Most of the research done on voyeurism has focused on cases where therapeutic or legal issues were involved.

Man's ashes laid to rest in computer | CNET

"I wonder how many of you already know where you would like your ashes to live in perpetuity.

In a Cupertino parking lot, perhaps? Or strewn on the steps of a certain academy of sciences?

I only ask because it seems that a geeky man called Alan seems not to have wondered about this. With the result that his eternally powdered life is now being spent inside a SPARCstation computer." ... more info at link

Raped at 8 and left for dead, a victim raises her voice | CNN

(CNN) -- For nearly 20 years Jennifer Schuett has held onto every memory of the night she was abducted from her bedroom, raped and left for dead. It was August 10, 1990. Schuett was 8 years old and lived alone with her mother in the first floor of an apartment complex in Dickinson, Texas. The bedroom windows faced the parking lot. Investigators were never able to identify a suspect, but new DNA testing may change that.
